Klang Bak Kut Teh

Rain.. rain.. rain..
It is so cold today..
So, I decided to go to Klang with ky to try so-called-best klang best Bak Kut Teh (BKT). The shop name is You Hou Fook, which is located in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. Thank to Min Ying for introducing such a good BKT shop. We ordered claypot BKT (dry and wet) and some yau char kwai. Below are some pictures taken there. The pork can almost melt in my mouth. For the dry BKT, they add in chilli, lady's finger and some dried cuttle fish. This shop is almost perfect except for their rice. They should've serve oil rice instead of normal rice. Anyway, this shop is definitely worth to try.

Kingston 512MB Ram

After months of frustration with my 'slow'-laptop..
I dropped by at iCT zone at Pusat Hentian Kajang. I decided to upgrade my laptop RAM (random access memory) from 256mb to 512mb. After a long discussion with the pc-man on 'laptop optimisation', he offered me Kingston 512MB RAM. He agreed to take in my old Infineon 256MB RAM for the price of RM30. The picture on the left is my old RAM (Infineon).

Today, my laptop is no longer 'slow'. I learnt various way to optimise the performance of laptop from Mr. Hoo.

Total damage to my wallet is RM120 (after trade-in my old Infineon RAM).

Hospital Kuala Lumpur attachment

After 8 days attachment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur..

I've come across a few pharmacist; Mr. Nathan, Madam Lim, Miss Nirmala, Miss Yam, Cik Siti, and Cik Faizah. I've learnt a lot from them. Each of them have different personalities.

Troughout this 8 days, I was sent to ward to clerk case, handling drug information, and handling TDM case. I struggled for the first 2 days in the ward, as Yee Yin and I still don't know the proper way of clerking. We were assigned into a ward, and left there clueless.

On the 2nd week, we were put under Miss Nirmala. TWO words to describe her; efficient, no-rubbish-talk. She gave us 30 minutes to clerk a case, and taught us fast and correct way of clerking case. She also taught us to think out of the box.

Another pharmacist that I salute to is Mr Nathan. He's TDM expert. Although he likes to make joke (Wai Yin must be enjoying time there. HaHa!!), he is very serious when handling TDM case. I've learnt from his various 'short-cut' and to see TDM from another point of view. Actually, Mr. Nathan used to train Miss Nirmala. That's why both of them are so efficient.

Lastly, I would say that this 8 days experience really expose me to the 'world of clinical pharmacist'. I learnt a lot medical abbreviation and to read doctor's super-ugly-handwriting. I salute nurses who were able to read doctor's handwriting.

HOSPIS Malaysia is a charitable organization that provide professional palliative care services in Klang Valley. It is located in cheras (near Cheras Makro) and it took us about 15 minutes to drive from IMU. For location map, please click here.

Basically, palliative care main aim is to improve the quality of life of patients and families facing with life-threathening illness. There are 2 main activities ; Day care and Homecare. In Hospis Cheras, there will be 'day care' every tuesday and thursday.

We arrived there quite early (720AM). At about 9, we were given a short talk on 'pain management'. Next, we were divided into smaller group (2) to follow nurse to patient's home. I followed Dr. Sylvia McCarthy, while PH followed Miss Loi (nurse).

We went to Taman Tan Yew Lai, Sunway Medical Centre, and 2 homes at Shah Alam. I feel sad for the young female who passed away before we reached their home due to breast cancer. During the journey, Dr. Sylvia shared with me her experiences in oncology and palliative care for the past 13 years in Malaysia. She was from UK.

For this 1 day visit, I've learned that:
  • I must appreciate my family members and my loved one
  • Never hesitate to do thing of your interest
  • Live your life fully
  • See this world with an open heart
  • Wake up everyday with a smile

CNY Lantern & Floral Festival 2007

Venue : Dong Zen Temple
PT 2297, Jalan Sg. Buaya,
42600 Jenjarom, Selangor, Malaysia
Date : 3 March 2007
Website : http://www.fgs.org.my

I went to Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple with ky, irene, sp, and ps. It took us about 1 hour to reach there from UKM. The road to the temple is bad and the road sign is not that helpful. Once we reached the temple, we were fascinated by the beauty of the temple and their annual decorations.
This year, the have 'Lotus Pagoda' Theme Lantern, Oriental Flora Exhibition, International Religious Stamp Exhibition, Fo Guang Art Exhibition, Book Fair for Lifetime Learning, The Main Shrine, The Relics Shrine, Lumbini Garden, Vegetarian Fair, and etc...

We walked around the crowded Lumbini Garden and had photo-taking session with ky's new Sony Cybershot-T10. Below are some of the pictures taken at Lumbini Garden:
Next, we went to the Book Fair for Lifetime Learning. Ky and I made a simple wish and put it on the 'wish tree'. There are books as well as CD being sold there.
Oriental Flora Exhibition, where the korean, japanese, and chinese garden are located. The smell of fresh flower in the hall is really nice, remind me of my trip to Bukit Tinggi.
At night time, thousands of lanterns lit up the huge temple and the view if very very nice. The pagoda is actually a 5 storey building that allow visitor to see scenery, but one need to make donation of RM10 to get into the pagoda. The second picture below shows the Gigantic Lotus Buddha Lantern.
At about 1030pm, there is also fireworks show and cultural show. The whole event is really beautiful. Every year, there will be different themes and decorations.

Happy Chap Goh Meh!!
